Root System Interactions of Common Vetch (Vicia Sativa L.) and Triticale (Xtriticosecale Wittmack) Under Intercropping Conditions

چکیده

Intercropping, mixed cropping, and rotation are commonly applied some of the oldest crop production techniques to improve soil structure nitrogen status. While takes generally two-season with one triticeae legume, inter-and cropping place within same season. Among many advantages legume most important is sustainable use resources reduced input cost. Numerous studies evaluated effect inter -and on above-ground interactions, very few investigated below-ground interactions in these systems. This study aimed investigate common vetch (Vicia sativa) x triticale (Xtriticosecale Wittmack) root system at seedling stage under intercropping conditions. The was conducted a semi-hydroponic plexiglass system. Five different ratios were used test species level intercommunication competition. results suggest that, while significantly affected development roots, did not affect triticale. Triticale fibrous more aggressive growth compared vetch. It seen that vigorous (for both species) doses higher ratios. Our highlight importance for selection best gain maximum outcome from systems

The activity and location of cathepsin D inhibitor in seeds of common vetch (Vicia sativa L.).

The activity of cathepsin D inhibitor is markedly higher in common vetch seed coat than in embryo cotyledons. The occurrence of considerable amounts of the inhibitor in the seed coat of vetch was confirmed by the fluorescent microscopic technique, with the use of fluorescein-marked cathepsin D.

Crude protein fractions in common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) fresh forage during pod filling.

Crude protein (CP) of forages can be separated into fractions of differentiated abilities to provide available amino acids in the lower gut of ruminants. This knowledge is critical to develop feeding systems and to predict animal responses. We have measured during two growing seasons (1996 to 1997 and 1997 to 1998) the CP fractions of common vetch fresh forage with the objective being to assess...

Transcriptome Analyses Reveal Candidate Pod Shattering-Associated Genes Involved in the Pod Ventral Sutures of Common Vetch (Vicia sativa L.)

The seed dispersion caused by pod shattering is a form of propagation used by many wild species. Loss of seeds from pod shattering is frequent in the common vetch (Vicia sativa L.), an important self-pollinating annual forage legume. However, pod shattering is one of the most important defects that limits the reproduction of the vetch in the field and the usage as a leguminous forage crop. To b...
